RELAY FOR LIFE

Braintree, Milton, Quincy and Randolph come together in early June for the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life. This
overnight fundraiser and celebration of life
involves a few thousand people at Braintree
High School’s track for about 18 hours. We
have provided recycling boxes for them the
past two years to keep cans and bottles out
of the waste stream.

SPREADING THE WORD

The Farmers Market held an Earth Festival in September 2011
with displays from all four Sustainable Braintree Task Forces. The
Recycle Task Force hosted a children’s Recycling Bingo, gave
out Single Stream information, and more.

At the “Peace, Love, Recycle” Festival at one of the Farmers Markets in 2010, Recycle Task Force members organized activities, games and shared information in the community tent. A free drawing was held for a compost bin donated by Jeff Kunz.

The Recycling Task Force has created several displays for the Thayer Public Library window cases in the entrance.
