SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING INFO and  TOWN BROCHURE

The Recycling Task Force encourages all Braintree residents and businesses to recycle.  It takes less energy to make items from recycled materials than to make them new from raw materials.

Braintree's Single Stream Recycling program makes it easy to recycle! Put one or two "Single Stream Recycling" stickers (available at Town Hall, Salvaggio Drop-Off Center, Thayer Public Library, and 90 Pond Street) on a clean trash barrel and throw your clean paper, plastic, glass and metal in it all together (co-mingling). Many Braintree households have more recycling than they do trash! Recent studies show that as much as 90% of household waste can be recycled.

The Town of Braintree pays $50 per ton for solid waste disposal, and receives $10 per ton for recyclables. Do the math - Braintree is ahead $60 for every ton of recycled items!

See the current Town Brochure (front, back) with information on what to recycle in Single Stream, dates for Household Hazardous Waste collections, yard waste pickups, hours for Robert Salvaggio Recycling Center (Ivory Street) and Covanta Residential Trash Drop-off and more:

Many things that are not eligible for Single Stream Recycling can be recycled elsewhere. Here’s a list of options for you.
